Here you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. If you have a question that you can't find the answer to below please feel free to get in touch!
The majority of our properties work to a Friday changeover for seven-night stays, with the addition of a Monday changeover to accommodate weekend breaks, Monday to Friday escapes, and full week stays. Generally, we work to these changeover days but we are able to offer a level of flexibility depending on availability of the property. Do not hesitate to get in touch with any requests.
Cancellation of a booking is a termination of your contract with the property owner; because of this, we have to treat your instructions to cancel your accommodation as your final decision. Following receipt of your cancellation, we will immediately make the dates available for re-sale in an effort to mitigate the cost to you of cancellation. We cannot guarantee that the dates will be re-sold, nor can we guarantee that re-sold dates will be at the same price as your original booking, as such we urge you to consider cancellation of your accommodation as a last resort. We suggest that you also purchase holiday insurance, just in case.
Moor Rooms neither offers nor insists that you purchase holiday insurance, we do however think that it is prudent to do so. A good travel insurance policy is likely to cover cancellation of your booking due to most reasons genuinely beyond your control; some insurances even cover cancellation due to adverse travel and road conditions. Moor Rooms will not be liable for events outside our control that prevent you accessing the property.
We understand that there are always ways to better our offering and therefore it is very important to us that we ask guests for their honest feedback at the end of their stay. This ensures that Moor Rooms are maintaining the quality of the properties that we market, and implementing any suggestions that might serve to improve the property and facilities on offer.
During your stay with Moor Rooms you can treat the property as your own and therefore friends are able to visit you in the property. However, friends are not allowed to stay overnight unless they have been pre-notified to Moor Rooms as members of your party. This is due to insurance purposes and health & safety concerns and is non-negotiable.
Each property should have the following basic supplies to make your stay more comfortable: bed linen, towels, logs (where required), tea, coffee, store cupboard essentials (such as cooking oil, sugar, salt, pepper), toilet roll, cleaning products, refuse and recycling bags, dishwasher tablets, tea towels.
At Moor Rooms, we pride ourselves on being as eco-friendly as possible which is why our office is paperless and why we present all information online. Web users can have peace of mind that the information they are viewing is completely accurate and up-to-date at all times
Check in is available any time after 4.00pm and check out is by 10.00am. Arrival and departure times are set so that house staff have ample time to clean and prepare the house to a high standard for the arrival of each guest. There are occasions when it may be possible for arrival and departure times to be altered but each request is at the discretion of the property owner and taken on a case-by-case basis. Any such request must be raised and confirmed in advance.
We supply guests with towels and bed linen. Bathrooms are stocked with hand wash and there is a hairdryer at each property. We recommend that guests bring extra towels for when using the hot tub.
Smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere inside our properties. There is a cleaning charge for any guests found to have been smoking inside. If you would like to smoke, please do so away from the building and clear up any cigarette ends.
All of our properties offer broadband. However, broadband speed and service is variable and can vary, especially in remote or rural areas where it may not operate at speeds to which you are accustomed.
Because dogs are very much at the heart of any family, we don’t expect you to leave them behind when you head off on a break so they are more than welcome on a Moor Rooms holiday.
We do ask that, if inside, dogs stay within the kitchen or utility area and when outside please clear up after them. Bagged dog waste should be placed within a black dustbin bag before disposing of in the wheelie bin.
You are very welcome to explore the properties grounds and gardens but please note there are working farms with livestock surrounding our properties so please close all gates behind you and ensure children are supervised at all times.
At each property there is ample off-street parking. We have never had an instance of car theft in our properties car parks but please be aware you are solely responsible for your car and its contents whilst parked on our premises.
All gardens have either a hedge or fence bordering the garden. This does however not mean the garden is child-proof/ dog friendly meaning the dog or child may get out of the property so we advise that they are supervised at all times.
