Joanne, Duxhams - January 2023

Just returned home after the most wonderful weekend at Duxhams. We are a large group of friends who have been enjoying a weekend away every January for the last ten years and I have to say, Duxhams has blown the other properties that we have stayed at out of the water. The attention to detail to everything that the house has to offer is 100%. The house and grounds provided everything you would need and more for a luxury stay. Every bedroom had its own unique decor and superb bathroom. The hot tub was a very welcome relaxation after a long walk and was used every evening. We even enjoyed an evening of cooking fresh pizzas in the pizza oven outside whilst keeping warm around the fire pit. I would definitely recommend booking this stunning property. It exceeded our expectations, we have already booked and are looking forward to returning next year.  A big thank you to Lucy who welcomed us at the property, took time to show us around and explained how to use all the fancy appliances and even started unpacking our food shop as it had arrived earlier than expected.

Thank you so much for making our weekend so very special. Duxhams is a totally fab house large but still has a real cosy feel. So much thought has gone into every room in the house and the outside space is the same. Would most definitely recommend. We have visited Dulverton many times great walking, lovely little town/village. Woods in Dulverton is worth a visit for food (but need to book), great butchers, bakers and green grocer, The Bridge is also good. Once again a big thank you we all loved it!!!

A perfect house in a perfect location for our multigenerational family holiday. We stayed at Smalls for a week during August and it could not have been better. The house was superbly appointed for our various family members with a huge kitchen complete with Aga for family meals together. The lower level worked really well for our toddlers and their parents. The wonderful gardens around the property meant there was plenty of space for the little ones and just a few steps from the beach. All in all a very difficult place to leave. Thanks to Lucy and the team at Pebbles for making our stay so great.

We stayed as a family for my brother’s 40th birthday in March 2022. As a large family we generally struggle to find somewhere that accommodates us all (from grandchildren to grandparents) and we couldn’t have been more pleased with Duxhams. The house has been beautifully restored to an incredibly high standard – every room is uniquely decorated much like a boutique hotel, every requirement has been anticipated (including an excellent hired chef, copious fridge and storage space, and thoughtful features for dogs), and every furnishing feels uniquely selected in a stylish and sustainable way. The wonderful snug space is perfectly set up for children, the large hot tub is very atmospheric in the private grounds, and it was a real treat to have large dining areas both inside and outside where we could all sit around as a family. There’s enough space to be separate, yet together and it’s easy to imagine bringing colleagues or clients here for a top-quality business event. It is the highest quality I’ve seen in any rental accommodation across the UK. Excellent location for local exploring and easy trip down from London for business or pleasure. Highly recommended.

Fantastic house in a spectacular location. Very well equipped, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hot tub was a real bonus. We were sad to leave!

WOW! What a great find Smalls was! Lucy the host was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any of our requirements. The house was very well kept and ideal for 2 families to share like we did. The location was absolutely fantastic. Some lovely walks and a very short walk to the ferry across to Salcombe. We will return to the house without a doubt!
